This week was a week of being a caregiver to someone I love.
It's easy to be kind for a few days but after six or more I needed to be intentionally kind.
There were times that I had to choose to not think that I was tired and didn't want to serve. Those were the times, the minutes I had to lean on the Lord and each time I intentionally asked Him for the strength to do what had to be done, He gave it to me!
The Lord was always there, and blessed me. One day because a lot of snow had fallen I knew the driveway needed to be plowed but I can’t use the snow blower, it’s too big. So I tried to get ahold of a company to come and do it for us. While I was waiting for a return call a man came to the door and asked us if we wanted our drive plowed. For $10.00!!! Not only did we get it plowed, it was a GREAT price!!
It was a busy week already, we were involved in extra events but as the stress and weariness engulfed me I was reminded that as I needed the love and strength I could rely on Jesus Christ. He is the source of our love so we can show these acts whether they are small, simple acts or big noticeable acts.
We all have or will have weeks, months or maybe years like this, ministering to someone we love, growing weary but turning to our Lord and having His strength in us not only gives us the power we need but the blessing is that His love can be seen in those little acts of love and that is the purpose, to have Christ living through us, through me.
